“EMDR is a bizarre and wondrous treatment and anybody who first hears about it, myself included, thinks this is pretty hokey and strange...
[But] we found that, of people with adult-onset traumas, a one-time trauma as an adult, that it had the best outcome of any treatment that has been published... it activates some natural processes in the brain that's helped you to integrate these past memories.”

FAQS
What's the process?
In your sessions we will work together as a team in the way that best serves your growth and helps you meet your goals. We will use the techniques that work best for you, which may include EMDR, peak performance techniques, "parts work", mind body therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, or just simply talking.
Often, my clients express that a combination of techniques is most effective for them. My focus is on supporting you in the ways that work best for you, and helping you to dissolve the obstacles that block your growth so you can feel empowered and confident in your personal and professional worlds.
What happens in the first session?
We will meet via a secure video platform, and take some time to get to know one another. There are no expectations of you other than your presence and your willingness. You will have space to share about yourself and your goals.
Together, we will get clear on what you are looking to achieve, create a plan for how we will address the things you want to work on, and discuss your vision of the future. I will answer any questions you have, and I typically give you some tools to use right away.
Do you only offer virtual sessions?
I work virtually, which means you can have your therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home or even from your car on a lunch break. We will meet via a secure, HIPAA compliant platform that you can access from your computer or your phone. Full instructions will be sent to you when you schedule your first session.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is a powerful 8 phase model that has clinical research to validate its effectiveness, and it can be used to clear past traumas as well as help increase positive belief and confidence in the present. Click this link for a video that explains EMDR and how it works.
What are your credentials?
I am licensed in the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and additionally I am a highly trained trauma-informed therapist, as well as a certified EMDR therapist and an EMDRIA approved EMDR consultant.
I'm also a Certified World Class Speaking Coach, trained in the Flash Technique, positive psychology, and advanced trauma and dissociation. I utilize "parts" work from several models including IFS, Comprehensive Resource Model, structural dissociation, and ego state therapy. Additionally, I have training in somatic therapy including the Hakomi Method and NeuroAffective Touch, as a yoga teacher, and am a certified massage therapist.
As a firm believer in ongoing consultation and learning, I have regular consultation with mentors in trauma informed therapy, performance enhancement, and business strategy, and I attend several psychotherapy and business trainings per year so that I can stay current with the the most recent research and knowledge.
How much does it cost?
The rate for a standard 50 minute session is $250.
Do you accept insurance for therapy sessions?
I do not take insurance directly. I can provide you with a monthly document called a superbill to give to your insurance company, and they may reimburse you for a percentage of the session fee. Contact your insurance company to ask questions about this process and to find out the amount that is covered under your policy.
Therapy or Coaching? What's the difference?
There are two ways you can work with me: through therapy or 1:1 coaching.
In therapy we look more deeply together at your earlier experiences and explore your psychology in order to shift whatever is causing fear, anxiety, doubt, or anything else that blocks your confidence or causes disturbance. We will likely explore and address earlier trauma. Often, outside of your awareness, trauma or distress from your earlier years will affect your performance and your relationship with yourself and others in the present. We address any present issues and deal with them at the root to make real change that lasts.
In coaching we focus more on your growth and your future goals. We use psychology tools to help you attain your highest potential as a leader, EMDR to clear blocks and build confidence, and can work on your speaking skills, executive presence, assertive communication, and/or influential speaking/presenting skills.
